ADVANCED WARNING - Wednesday 18 January - Track Night Withdean
Just to let you know Freedom Leisure are undertaking repairs on the stadium's track floodlights w/c 16 January. This means certain areas of the track are out of bounds.
Most of the back straight and the ramp down to the finish line.
Freedom Leisure have asked:
It is of the upmost importance that all club personnel and participants heed warning signs and exclusion zones to avoid accident or injury. The zones marked out should not be moved or tampered with over the week please. This will protect yourselves and your participants and also allow the contractor to keep to the programmed time of works.
NB Phoenix and Tri club session on Wednesday night will access the track via Gate East 5 please and not West 1/2. Parking would thus be in the lower park and ride car park and not the upper complex car park.
Sessions will therefore maybe a little crowded so some sessions may start a bit later so please be vigilant. We are not proposing to cancel any sessions although sprint groups may want to check with their coaches as the back straight will be down to 3/4 lanes.
5.30 Junior groups are asked to remain in the stands/seated area until the coaches arrive and invite you on to the track or grass.
Parents/guardians please can you pass this info onto your children.

The conditions at Bexhill for the Sussex x-country championships, on Saturday 6th January, were the best they have been for some years; normally ankle deep in mud, this year the ground was firm with no wind allowing for some start Phoenix performances.
We are building up early for Awards Night 2017 and in the new year we will be posting on the website a list of all the club awards and trophies along with the criteria the Board use to judge who should win in each case.
Provisional results for the Sussex Grand Prix indicate a medal haul of 25 medals for Phoenix.....
Last race of the Sussex Grand Prix races saw 3 age category wins.
The Sussex Cross Country League saw the 3rd of its 4 races on Saturday December 3rd. Held this time at Stanmer Park, the league table continues to be wide open with all to race for in the final session in February.
